Project Customer (Kathy kinloch, (CEO) of the bcit)
The project customer is the people residing within the Burnaby, British Columbia. Additionally,
the project customer will also include the students and faculty members from the Briitish
Columbia Institute of Technology (Campbell, 2014). The locals and the organization will benefit
from the project since the Guichon Creek will be restored, and it can run through BCIT.

The project sponsor is the BCIT campus in Burnaby. BCIT students have been involved in no
small extent in the restoration program. The BCIT campus is located at 3700 Willingdon Avenue
(Commisso, 2016).
3.
Rationale for project and its importance to the Sponsor
The project has been chosen by the sponsor since Guichon Creek has been covered over the
years, and it has been inaccessible (Campbell, 2014). The project is vital to the sponsor as it will

BCIT and the locals within the Burnaby areas as they will be in a position to enjoy the sceneries
to be provided by the restored creek.
4.
Project overview description
The project will seek to renovate the Guichon Creek, which runs from the Wesburn Park and
crosses the Willingdon Avenue and also enters the lands owned by BCIT. The section of the
creek at BCIT has been covered for an extended period. BCIT has established a 50th
Anniversary plan, which seeks to ensure that the section of the creek that runs through BCIT is
restored and visible (Campbell, 2014). The current project will be designed such that it does not
affect buildings or the traffic flow within the campus. The restoration process is allowed to move
3
the parking spaces and can also re-direct particular roadways, and the final phase needs to
connect with the current creek on the Canada Way.
5.

the Burnaby area.

campus.
To reconnect the restored section of the Guichon Creek to the Canada Way.
6.
Project scope boundaries, limitations and constraints
The project will concentrate on restoring the section of the creek that runs through BCIT.
The project might be limited in terms of the level of restoration activities that can be conducted
while the campus is operational (Commisso, 2016).
The project constraints include the budget, the topography of the creek, and the availability of
affordable human resources.
