Description
The general guideline for the report– INTRO – Brand concepts to narrower ones – Specific study question @ the end (whether or NOT changes in bird activity are due to changes in human activity (foot tracking)) METHODS: (IMPORTANT) **Talk about data collection even though we didn’t get to do it** —> significance of the test itself – Make sure to include: efforts of standardization – Talking about what efforts were in place to maintain standardization – Talk about what data was ACTUALLY COLLECTED and what is REPRESENTS – Usually data itself collected is index of something – What the data collected is and what it means – Talk about limitations of sampling methods – Impacts validity in results RESULTS: – Make sure to report everything that is said to report in the lab handout – Need to be able to interpret the values and explain what the result actually means and NOT just state the data DISCUSSION: – Tie the results to the major concepts that we are addressing – Specifically talk about the importance of the results and how they connect back to the major ideas – Major claims not learned in class and lab should be sited here – Making conclusions based on additional informations – Mention the limitations of the methods – When making claims follow up with the pitfalls – Don’t repeat every limitation from the data collection but anything in particular that is important to be mentioned for whatever claim being made —> more specific based on the claim so DONT COPY the METHODS CITATION: **MINIMUM of 3 peer reviewed journals sited within our writing (CAN OCCUR ANYWHERE) – Want to site things that we haven’t learned in ecology
