Im trying to learn for my Law class and Im stuck. Can you help?
Ouestion 1
Discussion #1
What is the CSI effect and how might criminal defense attorneys try to use it to their advantage? Do juries have the same expectations of physical evidence for all crimes from homicide to petty theft?
For fun, go to http://forensics.rice.edu/en/For-Educators/Online-Activities.html and play the games. Let me know your thoughts on the experience.
Discussion #2
According to the Fourth Amendment, the people have a right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. This right limits the power of the police to seize and search people, their property, and their homes.
One of the most controversial arguments surrounding the Fourth Amendment is whether or not the Fourth Amendment hinders police investigation, or forces the police to follow the Bill of Rights.

Write at least one paragraph supporting a pro side (forces the police to follow the Bill of Rights) or con side (hinders police investigation) on the 4th amendment. Respond to at least two students who take a opposite side of you in two or more sentences.
Question 2
When discussing ethics and morals, a common topic of debate involves whether these concepts are relative (i.e., our ideas regarding right and wrong will vary significantly based upon our upbringing, culture, religious beliefs, etc.) or absolute (i.e., certain actions are absolutely right or wrong, regardless of our upbringing, culture, religious beliefs, etc.).
In your opinion, is all morality relative (i.e., simply an individual’s definition of right and wrong), or are certain moral concepts absolute? Should everyone have the right to decide which behaviors are acceptable or unacceptable?
Could variances in the manner in which criminal justice professionals view morals and ethics as either absolute or relative impact day-to-day decision making? Explain your answer.
Remember to cite your supportive resources.
Question 3
Your entire group project is centered around this mindset as each of you represent one facet of “crime fighting” in the scenario about the VBBC. The police can’t do it alone, nor can the courts, nor the corrections world, etc. It does take a team effort to fight crime and as you might imagine. Collaboration does not work very effectively in many locales (politics, lack of effort, turf protection, etc.)
After reading this article provide your response to the following questions:
a. What is the most significant thing you have learned in your review of the article regarding collaborative team work in criminal justice?
b. Why is this significant learning important to your role in the group?
c. How do you plan to use what you’ve learned in your group collaboration to deal with the VBBC in the role you selected?
Answer each part of the Discussion Question thoroughly and substantively, citing sources for any assertions.
