Case Study
The individual under study in this case study is a 16-year old male who according to the
case study fell from 27 feet in a construction site and died. The incident happened in Alabama on
April 19, 2000. The individual was a member of the framing crew and was working at the
construction site. The problem that is being addressed in this case study is the safety issues for
the people who work in a construction site and who face the risk of falling from the buildings
when they are at work. In the case, the victim fell from a height of 27 feet while he was still
performing his duties as a framing employee. The main question raised is whether the employer
had observed the child labor laws that makes it illegal for people under the age of 18 to be
employed as workers. Other question raised in the case study is whether the employer in this
case had provided the employees with safety programs, and fall protection. The case also
questions if the employer had provided adequate safety training to the employees. The
recommended safety measures in this case study include that the employees be provided with fall
protection equipment, the employees be adequately trained on safety measures, and the employer
to provide the employees with safety programs. The employer should also ensure that the
employees comprehend the safety measures. To prevent the recurrence of the problem, the
recommended safety measures should always be observed, and that employers must strictly
adhere to child labor laws.

safety and health officer, you should be familiar with the concept of writing a case study. There
are several examples of case studies given on the OSHA website for reference purposes. Please
