The short story is the only source for the, six-page critical analysis essay. And that source must be cited in MLA format on the Work Cited. Which is the last page of the essay (source is in alphabetical order with the author’s last name first beginning at the margin). Students must quote from the short story and cite the quotations (use up to 4 in the text of your essay in MLA format, for example (Poe 12). The quote supports the analysis provided by student.

The essay is typed in double space MLA FORMAT throughout the entire essay.

No Study Guides of any kind are to be used for this essay to support your analysis or used as a source. I am interested in your critical thinking and writing skills not theirs.

Please do not have a page long paragraph. A complete paragraph is at least five to eight complete sentences.

Quote to support your thesis argument. Make sure to provide in-text citation for quotes. Do not over quote. Quotes are not in italics they must be in the same type as the entire essay.

There is a 1-inch margin for the entire paper. And indent (TAB each paragraph 3 or 5 spaces only.
