Policy Observations

Purpose: To be able to easily recognize and evaluate the policies used by other organizations aimed at various stakeholders in order to evaluate those that affect your organization. Be sure to complete both parts of the assignment: 2 Parts
Table
Evaluation and Analysis.

DETAILS:
1. TABLE
Express your observations as a table. Be sure to include online examples (website, social media — their own and comments by others through Yelp, etc.) as well as in person, on TV or radio.
There is no required number of observations for your table but it should include both visual and auditory examples, online, on air (TV or radio), in person, and on air (TV or radio commercials if available). You may want to include photos of your examples but if you don’t, be sure to include the wording of the policy, process, best practice, or procedure or situation you observed to make your point. Choose the best examples, not every example.
Examples:
See the attached pdf for some of my visual examples.
From our local public radio station, KUT 90.5. “Our reputation is no accident.” It’s a play on words and a hard policy to live up to. The company is AMM Collison Center. Look at their website for other examples of policies. https://www.ammcollision.com/ Screen Shot 2019-01-22 at 9.27.26 AM.png
This happens and has happened in religions throughout the centuries. This is a current example of a policy and its effect. What might be a good policy for one stakeholder may be terrible to another. Nordland, Rod, Fatima Faizi and Fahim Abed. Afghan women fear peace with Taliban may mean war on them. New York Times January 27, 2019. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/27/world/asia/taliban-peace-deal-women-afghanistan.html?emc=edit_th_190128&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=697144080128
**Your table must:
List examples from each business (where you work and one other business you visited)
Identify what is the policy, process, procedure, or best practice that this example refers to, and
Identify the stakeholder(s) affected by each example. Use the categories from the Creating Great Stakeholder Experiences article in this week’s module to identify the stakeholder(s). HINT: There is usually more than one stakeholder affected by the use of this specific internal governance structure.2. ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSION ( 200-400 words max) :
Write up your analysis and conclusions separately. Compare the policies, procedures, processes, and best practices you cite from your company to either the restaurant, grocery store, or professional services location you observed. You should include relevant citations.
Answer the following questions about each each example.
What is the purpose of this?
What would the affected stakeholder take away from reading or hearing this?
What does this say about each business’ approach to internal governance.
Are they creating structures that are enforceable or not enforced, ignored, or worse. (You can see or experience enforcement or non-enforcement very clearly sometimes.)
How would you rate them in terms of accountability, transparency, and fairness to stakeholders. (You may have different opinions based on each separately affected stakeholder.)
