Im working on a English exercise and need support.
After a practice childhood narrative, the book-length memoir-like The Things They Carried, and your in-class session with Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger, I hope youve taken some of the ideas about writing about yourself and making the audience care to heart. Lets give writing one of your own one last shot, shall we?
This ones still on the short end, but you can tackle almost anything youd like here. A list of possible ideas/topics is as follows. These are not limited to a childhood memory:
–Your long-term association with a person (friend, family member, coach, etc.)
–Your long-term association with a non-person (pet, sport, tv-show, musical artist, etc.)
–A friend or family member you havent seen in a long time
–A personality or physical trait that has changed over time, or has remained interestingly consistent
–The way you fit in your friend group
–A flaw that you know of and address (or fail to address) in some way.
–One interesting story from a few minutes or hours that reveals something about you
–Fears
–A place that has a lot of meaning
–Modes of your life; maybe you switched who you are
–Tons more stuff
