• Provide the original lines with your re-writing.
• Then discuss:
  • Explain how your changes impact meaning–be specific
  • Did spending time thinking about the words in the original version change your original understanding or reception of the song? That is, did some of the song’s original the words shift out of a default setting in your mind? Or do you recall other examples of realizing a word or phrase had shifted out of your own default setting?
• Excluding your song sample and new version, write approximately 150 -175 words (avoid repetition and wordiness)
