I’m studying for my Art & Design class and need an explanation.

St Michael Vanquishing Satan: I would like to focus on the painting of St Michael Vanquishing Satan, and how and why the paintings of angels and demons deemed to be a popular topic during this time

one point to consider is that the influence of humanism is seen here – both angels and demons are “humanized” by artists who portray them in the arts including literature – they become more complex characters . . .
