Fresno City College Community Resource Paper Discussion Research a family or child resource that benefits the community you live in. This may be any agency, program, service, special interest group, resource, or company that provides ongoing services to children and families; it must be a FREE resource or one with a sliding scale based on income. If the agency services are based on a sliding scale you must provide the documentation of the sliding scale. This cannot be a federal or state agency that offers aid (this means WIC, headstart/early headstart programs, CashAid, CalWorks…. etc.). If it is an agency that is nationally known explain how it uniquely benefits your community (the programs and times of programs for that particular center). This requires you to research and contact the agency, obtain information from direct contact with agency.

Write at least a one-page paper describing the agency and how it provides a service to the community. This paper should be at least one page in length, typed, double-spaced, 12-point font. To make sure you address each of the required components type the question below and then answer it using the information you received. Be sure to include ALL of the following in your paper.

What are the services provided from this organization? Make sure to list ALL of the services provided. DO NOT cut and paste from the organizations website.
How does this resource benefit the community you live in? (This section will be the longest of the paper.) Think about the implications to the community if this resource was not available. Discuss the long term benefits to the community.
Contact Information including address, hours of operation and who to contact (who did you speak to)? What is the person’s position who you spoke with? I DO randomly choose papers to verify the contact information. Make sure it is accurate.
When would you recommend this agency to parents/families? (who would best benefit from their services)
