I’m simplifying this a bit to see what you have learned about essay structure so far this semester.
Introductory Paragraph:
What information does the reader need to know about the film and its content? (Be sure to state

This sets up the goal of your essay by telling the reader what you thought about the film. Think
of the film as a potential piece of propaganda used to shape the identity of the viewer and/or to
promote a specific message. In what way does it present progressive or regressive ideas about
your topic (gender or race in Disney or superheroes).
Plan for development:
In what 3 ways might you address this text as a good, mixed, or bad model for children and/or
young adults? This sets up the three points for the review.
