The purpose of this research is to develop recommendations designed to help hiring

This paper aims to provide a comprehensive research analysis of employee turnover as a
management problem, using a literature review as a research design and giving recommendations
based on the findings of the study.
Identification of the Problem
In the contemporary corporate world, if the list of all organizational problems is run on
the mind of senior leaders of a company, managers’ fingerprints are all over the issues. In other
words, most organizational problems are caused by the management of a company. It is either
the action or inaction of managers that combine to become the hidden root cause of
organizational concerns (Hom et al., 2017). For this research analysis paper, the employee
turnover rate will be used as a management problem for analysis. Turnover is one of the biggest
and the most painful organizational issues that can plague a company to its knees in the current
world. When high turnover rates strike an organization, it is unfortunate that most companies
misdiagnose the problem. In most cases, management in most organizations falsely attributes
turnover of employees to quality of the job offer or even issues to do with employee fitting to the
workplace (Hom et al., 2017). The truth is quite different because research indicates that most
employees leave their jobs because of their managers. Putting it in another way, the management
of an organization causes employee turnover. In light of this, the direct audience of employee
turnover in an organization is senior management and the human resource department. These are
the people who have the authority to take action on the recommendations to stop employee
Statement of the Resolving Employee Turnover
As mentioned earlier, employee turnover is often caused by the poor management of an
organization. There are several ways in which poor management in organizations leads to high
employee turnover rates. First, when managers operating like dictators and refuse to take
employee opinions into considerations, they create a platform where proper employees runoff
(Kim et al., 2017). Secondly, the lack of performance reviews that allow employees to rate their
managers and the absence of a 360-degree feedback tool in an organization create a high risk for
turnover (Kim et al., 2017). The bottom line is that organizational management does not make
employees feel appreciated in their workplaces and makes them feel taken advantage of is
risking high employee turnover rates.
Organizations need to find the right ways and strategies for solving employee turnover
because it affects the business in multiple ways. Turnover is costly to a business organization
because a voluntary resignation of human capital investment calls an organization reinvest in the
replacement process (Kim et al., 2017). The replacement costs include searching for excellent
talent in the labor market, advertisements, and the selection process. Secondly, turnover needs to
be addressed because it leads to the loss of experienced employees. It also affects a business
organization’s productivity since there is a loss of experienced labor and trained staff that know
the culture and policies of the organization. Therefore, high employee turnover can lead to
inexperienced employees’ hiring to replace trained ones, which eventually lowers productivity
(Kim et al., 2017). The bottom line is that organizations need to solve employee turnover
because of the negative consequences it brings to productivity, performance, and costs.
Impact of Turnover to an Organization
Turnover negatively impacts an organization if the problem is not solved. High
employee turnover rates come with the need for hiring and training new employees. High
employee retention gives a company a platform for providing a higher caliber workforce that
positively impacts the operation (Lee et al., 2017). However, high turnover is a source of
organizational problems. High employee turnover negatively impacts the revenue and
profitability of an organization. Turnover affects the income of an organization by increasing
hiring expenses, lost sales, increasing training costs, and lost productivity, which have a direct
impact on revenue and profitability of an organization (Lee et al., 2017). Employee turnover is a
cause of low workplace morale. An organization with a high turnover rate can experience low
workplace morale of employees. This stems from the fact that turnover leads to a smaller number
of employees, which increases the chances of overworking available employees because of
increased responsibilities and workloads (Lee et al., 2017). If this kind of working environment
continues in an organization, it can lead to more difficulty attracting and keeping high-quality

Below is a basic scenario that can help get you started thinking about a problem to work on. The idea here is to find a real problem in your world either at work or in another community you belong to. It could be a church, an association, and so on; a work problem is preferred. If you have a unique idea other than business, talk to
your instructor and make sure it fits within the parameters of the course outline and objectives.
For the purpose of this class you are a research analyst and your job is to perform studies and analysis for companies that need product, process improvement, manufacturing, and consulting research services.
You have been assigned to develop a comprehensive research strategy and plan and develop a proposal outline for a customer-driven project. After you complete your review of the project, you will have to pick a topic and decide the research methodology that will be applied. Then you will have to develop the research design to
include the topic, purpose statement, literature review, research question and hypothesis, and the analysis and report writing format. Your first task(s) in this process will be to (1) select a project to use as the
basis of your research, analysis and synthesis for each of the assignments in the course and (2) identify the audience (i.e., who has the authority to take action on the recommendations). You will also create the shell document for the final project deliverable that you will be working on during each unit. As you proceed through each
