In this role, Kira has the authority from the owners of the brewery to negotiate small contracts under $100,000 with the various trucking companies who deliver the brewery’s beer to retail stores.Kira has recently entered into a delivery contract worth $1,000,000 with KT Trucking Industries Ltd., a local trucking company. The terms of the contract call for on time delivery of intact product to various retailers. The principal of KT Trucking is Kira’s father-in-law Ken Turner. The contract is very one sided to the benefit of KT Trucking, as Ken is a tough negotiator and reminded Kira on numerous occasions throughout the negotiation that they are family. Six months into the contract Kira discovers that shipments of beer are continually being delivered late and often there are numerous cases of beer that have been smashed in the shipping process.
