The final project is a 5-6 page reflection paper that includes your critical analysis of your
learning process throughout the semester (pages 1 and 2) and the analysis of the two
organizations you chose to engage in for your second video speech (Pages 3 to 5-6).
1. On pages 1-2, include your growth as a scholar in trying to understand civic engagement
with an intersectional approach. What were your initial thoughts about civic engagement?
How did our reading materials and discussions contribute to a broader understanding of
social change and civic engagement? What were some of your favorite pieces? Why? Which
pieces did you have issues with? Why?
2. On pages 3-6, include your analysis of the research findings based on the interviews you
carried out (if you interviewed people). Analyze the language that is included on the
websites you researched. What can you say about the rhetoric they use? Is it inclusive? Do
they take into account diversity and intersectionality? How so? Focus on the language and
their initiatives to promote civic engagement.
