Electric Car Charging Road Presentation helloI have a power point slides and I want to add my part to it (-for each method describe: “how many
samples will be analyzed”, “how many replicates will be analyzed”, and
“how the data will be analyzed”).I have a word file explaining the method. Electric Car
Charging Road
1
Raise your hand if you have a car.
Keep your hand up if you have an
electric car.
2
Introduction
–
86% of every household in USA
owns a vehicle
Thats about 268.8 million vehicles
Majority of these vehicles are gas
powered
3
Current Mode of Transportation
–
US uses 391.40 million gallons of finished motor
gasoline daily
That produced 1872.53 million metric tons of CO2
in 2017 according to the pie chart
Total Emissions in 2017 = 6,457 Million Metric Tons of CO2equivalent. Percentages may
not add up to 100% due to independent rounding.

Electric Cars
Electric cars use electricity to power their car
as opposed to gasoline, but they still contain
gasoline for back-up power.
Electric cars are the future of private
transportation, but not many people own
electric cars.
Because not many people own electric cars,
there arent many charging stations available.
5
Statement of Problem
-There is a lack of charging stations for electric cars.
-There is too much fossil fuel emission polluting the planet.
6
Aim and Objective
–
Create a smart city with an electric car charging strip underneath the road to
constantly charge electric cars.
Frequent recharging is a very big issue, recharging time is high and waiting for
recharging is worse.
Provide a more ecofriendly approach as well as efficiency of charging electric
cars.
7
Solution #1:
Add More Electric Car
Charging Stations
-increased availability for
charging, but doesnt solve
conveniency and overall
efficiency for electric cars
8
Solution #2:
Implement a Wireless
Charger under the Road
–
Constantly charges electric
vehicle
Wont have to buy gas
The electric car charger will be
solar paneled
9
Method
The method used will be similar to the design already
implemented in sweden. There will be a metal strip embedded
within the road that will efficiently provide power. The strip
will provide the circuit with enough energy to effectively
charge cars batteries. This design will contribute to our smart
city by and promoting and advancing the turn over from gas
to electric cars, therefore being eco and cost friendly.
10
Integrating Solar Panels
Pros:
– Environmentally friendly
– Renewable source
Cons:
– Expensive
– Limited energy
11
Budget (cost of materials)
?
?
?
As far as mass price, asphalt is estimated by the ton. Current discount valuing of mass
base evaluation asphalt is somewhere in the range of $70 and $80 per ton.
The normal cost per watt for solar panels ranges from $2.67 to $3.43.
To introduce the solar panels, it would cost to about $11,000 and $14,000.
12
Scope of Work
–
Civil engineer
Electrical engineer
Industrial engineer
Mechanical Engineer
Construction Manager
Project Manager
Construction Workers
13
Benefits
–
Solar panels reduces greenhouse gases
Produces clean and renewable energy
The main energy source comes from the suns radiation
Encourages consumers to purchase an electric car

Electric Car Charging System
There is an undergoing technology that aimed at doing away with the issue of refueling vehicles.
Many trials of inductive charging are being carried out in many places, especially developed
countries. Israel is on the forefront trying carrying out many experiments. The government
through the ministry of infrastructure is investing in roads which are capable of powering
vehicles in motion (Fagan, 2017). The technology is built under the pavements and is wireless
eliminates need having stations with plug-ins where cars have to stop for charging then again
proceed with their journey. It is a topic of discussion which needs further research to find the
appropriate methods of implementing it with ease.
There is need to carry out research on inductive Method described above. The study
should investigate three variables which are the cost of installation, range of coverage and weight
of the vehicle to be supported by inductive charging system. Data can be collected from a sample
of some cars of different types. For example, the sample can range from two motorcycles, two
small cars, two medium vehicles like Nissan and two large ones like school buses and the biggest
of all like long trucks that are heavily loaded. These can be at least twelve vehicles. Because of
the likelihood in variation in the flow of current, the research can still repeat the experiment.
Here we can reduce the replicates so that we just have six vehicles only made up of one from
each category. The data from about the three variables can then be analyzed quantitatively. The
researcher can then apply test of correlation to find the association between the time taken by
each automobile to travel on the electric roads and each of the three variables.
