As of 2014. BWB has grown to over $80 million in revenues but is struggling and I believe will continue to struggle as time moves forward. This growth has been accredited primarily to their social entrepreneurship mindset. I believe the challenge in
maintaining this growth will come from the move to digital literature and other products yet to surface. As of today, the existence of e-books and audio books have removed some of the environmental effects on producing literature. With the exception of the
devices we use to view and listen to text, these platforms have altered the landscape that BWB was founded on.
According to the Vice president of marketing, John Ujda, he believes the biggest challenge is people knowing who they are and how it operates. “If I could just get people’s attention for two minutes, they will never buy a book anywhere else” (Hilderley,
n.d.). I do believe this would be true over 10 years ago but today I still believe the digital world makes this idea far-fetched. Provided the organization finds new initiatives to present themselves as environmentally friendly and sell e-books then they may be able
to leverage business from the likes of Amazon and similar companies.
This is not to say that today the company has no strengths. The ability to be able to obtain literature at low prices and sell at higher prices increases their margins greater than some of their competitors and through initiatives with other organizations, these
books may benefit countries with less advancement in technology. Foreign universities, libraries and programs may benefit in a major way from having access to literature with little or no cost and keep BWB profits in at an ideal level to sustain business.
As the transition to digital literature continues to grow. BWB should start to look into ways to continue using renewable energy sources to produce and market their literature. It is inevitable that this direction is the way to go as society progresses. They
like many companies have to look at their external environment within respect to the environment and technology and develop the best strategy to sustain and advance their triple bottom line business strategy.

supply, low brand awareness, and copycat competitors (Horn, 2018).
The innovative business model applies business solutions to specific social problems. Although the model is successful at the beginning, it has its levels of success (Joseph. 2018). Since the model is based on innovation, such a model only confers a
competitive advantage to an organization if the competing organizations are unable to replicate it in their own organizations (Joseph, 2018). While organizations such as BWB can use patents for legal protection, the reality is that many innovative products and
business processes cannot be protected. This explains why BWB found itself competing with copycats in the crowded used-book industry. Using this model, an innovative company makes the initial investment thus taking all risks associated with the investment
(Soulsby, 2018). After sometimes, the company finds itself competing with many other similar companies riding on the initial innovation made by the company. This results in a lack of guarantee of revenues and profits in the future (Soulsby, 2018).
