Note: Instructions to create the identity tree, lesson information, and all video resources are attached to this assignment sheet at the end of the document. I will be the only one with access to this assignment but only write as much as you are comfortable with. You should still be critically analyzing yourself and discussing your discoveries as honestly as you can. This assignment does not judge what you have written, but how you can apply what you’ve learned so far to the materials we have engaged with.
Using the identity tree we created together in class reflect upon it using at least 2 of the videos that we also watched together in class. I encourage you to relax and watch them again on your own time and take it in. It’ll be worth it, I promise! They’re incredible videos that can give us great insight into ourselves and one another!
You must answer the questions in paragraph format, however, you can write it in an informal essay format or in proper paragraphs answering the questions. It’s up to you!

Requirements for the identity tree:
Materials needed: Paper, colored markers/pencils/pens, etc. or a digital program of some kind
Step 1. Draw a large tree
Step 2. the ROOTS should have where you are from, what you have learned from the people around you, and your experiences as a child. What are the important norms and values you learned as a kid?
Step 3. The TRUNK of the tree should have who you are today; what you you believe in? Who have you become? What do you care about? What is important to your identity?
Step 4. the BRANCHES or CANOPY of the tree should look towards the future; who do you want to become? What do you want to learn? What are you looking forward to?
Your tree can have things you agree with or disagree with, there are no wrong answers it’s up to you!
