Orange County Community College CompuCool Case Discussion Read the scenario below and provide detailed, informed (citing relevant information from the readings), responses to each of the questions that follow.  As always, your initial post should cite and reference supporting information from the assigned Chapter 14 readings with proper paraphrasing, citations, and references. You are an organizational development consultant at RPJ Consulting, Inc.You have just been hired by the CompuCool company, which designs and sells “netbooks” (small laptop computers with limited capability that cost less than $300). In the past year, the company has gone from 150 employees with virtually no organizational chart to 1,500 employees working in the areas of research and development, production, sales, marketing, and finance. CompuCool primarily manufactures netbooks, but it also produces small accessories for the netbook (e.g., case, wireless mouse, etc.). The company’s sales have gone from $3 million to $15 million in two years. Furthermore,the founders of the company were college roommates, are very laid back, and do not like a lot of rules and procedures. To this point, the company culture has been very informal, with few procedures in place. CompuCool’s mission statement, which has existed since the beginning of the company, reads, “Our mission is to produce a cool, accessible netbook computer for all people.In doing so, we want to have fun while making a difference and maybe a profit, too.” The company has hired you because they are concerned with the company’s overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
