Research how computers are used in the video game industry currently, how they could be used in the future, and what (if any) social, legal, or personal issues arise from using them

Objective

Your task for this project is to research and write a 3-5 page paper and present your findings to the class via ZOOM using PowerPoint presentation software.

Topic: your paper topic must be focused on computers & their current uses and future uses, as well as the social, legal, and personal issues associated with the use of computers.

Example 1: You could even think of a “dream job” that utilizes computers in some way and research how they are used, and what issues arise from using them.

Example 2: Think of a current new trend or idea happening with computers, research how they are planning to use them to change society/daily life and what issues may arise.

**Your instructor must approve the topic, no duplicate topics allowed. You may work in Partners (maximum 2 people) or by yourself.

In summary, you will have two deliverables (things to turn in):

1. Research paper – 150 points
2. PowerPoint Presentation (as well as presenting this in front of the class via ZOOM) – 100 points

• Must be 10-12 slides
• Include appropriate theme, transitions, animation, SmartArt, good quality images; apply good design practices with readability on slides, no text overload, etc.

Paper

Length: 3-5 pages – the exact length may vary, but there should be 3-5 pages of text to cover your topic in detail.

 Format: The paper must be:

• Typed using MS Word
• MLA format – Please use “Times New Roman”, 12 pt font, & margins of 1” all the way around (this is standard MLA requirements).
• Submit online in Canvas – Modules Section – Final Research Paper link, upload file, and submit (will not submit in person or need to print)
• A Works Cited page is required, as is citing references (see below)
• A minimum of 3 sources required
  • Use “Parenthetical citations” within the body of the paper (alternative to using footnotes) – see example below.
