If you are writing an academic paper: this paper should be approximately 2000 words, or twice as long as one of your movie reviews. It should include at least one ancient source, at least one movie that was not assigned for class (see list at the bottom of the page), and at least one work of argumentative secondary scholarship — movie reviews and newspaper articles will not fulfill this requirement. It is okay if the work of scholarship talks about multiple or different films, as long as you can connect the argument being made to your film,. There are some suggested works of secondary scholarship linked on the library page (Links to an external site.) for this course. Of the ones listed, I know that Solomon/Renger and Pomeroy are both available online. You can also contact the librarian, Mr. Rowland, for help using the button on that page, or via email (frowland@temple.edu). He is holding individual help sessions via email, chat, and Zoom.
