In this section, students should present realistic, timely and cost-effective recommendations. Students should draw on their analysis and provide prac-tical recommendations on how the issue can be addressed.

Whether the recommendations include actions to change, to do something differently, or to maintain and/or strengthen the existing approach, it is im-portant that there are not too many recommendations, and that they are workable. Students should prioritise the recommendations that are likely to achieve the greatest effect and, in doing so, take into account the reality of the proposals in terms of:

· potential implementation difficulties – likely barriers and how they might be overcome
· the cost implications – finance and resources required
· timescales – what is achievable in the short, medium and long term
· the benefits that will accrue from full or partial implementation.

The implementation plan can also include identification of who is to lead on each recommendation. Addressing these factors will enable students to demonstrate their understanding of the key implications of theories and aca-demic debates and improve their ability to persuade key decision makers to give serious consideration to the recommendations.
