You will be writing a research paper on the topic you chose in the first week of class.(Drugs and alcohol) You will be analyzing the changes that have occurred in your topic since the Civil War to today. For some topics, you might want to go back to before the Civil War. Even if you are discussing something that was originated After the war, such as airplanes, you will need to address the research that came before so that you paper encompasses the entire 160 period of this course.
Your not going to be providing a list of achievements or changes. YOU WILL BE GIVING AN ANALYSIS OF HISTORICAL PATTERNS. How did your subject effect the course of US history and how did political and social patterns influence the changes to your subject?
