For the next step in the CT writing exercise; You will be finding 3 additional articles in support of your topic. In week 2 you found 3 that were opposing it, now you’ll find 3 that support it. All together for the rough draft ( in the weeks ahead) you will have researched a total of 6 articles. The purpose of these exercises is to assist you in conducting a critical thinking assessment of the topic from all sides . When you go to compose your rough draft later on you will also share your own views and reference which side supports your view from the research you’ve conducted. Remember writing is a process and the advantage of having these writing exercise assignments will assist you in composing your final essay for this course in a step by step process. This means that if you follow the directions as provided and complete the exercises and assignments as they are given and due, you will not be “ cramming “ to compose an essay in the final hours of week 8, because you will have already been building it week by week ( with feedback from me given along the way) . This is a positive thing and a good way to discipline oneself to write one’s essays going forward with your college education. Breaking down the essay into pieces and working one piece at a time makes writing papers a whole lot less stressful and more enjoyable because you are not overloading your mind all at once .
