Presley, Meade and Sarkis (2016) present strategic sourcing as a methodology that promises improvement in organizational competitive advantage and delivering customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction can be measured by a continued working relationship between the parties in the contract, retention rates, volunteered feedback, and referrals, among others. Strategic sourcing, according to Presley, Meade and Sarkis (2016), achieves customer satisfaction through high-quality products and offers flexibility in organization functions as well as reducing operating costs. This term paper will take the following outline;
Introduction and Thesis. The paper will present the impact and importance that strategic sourcing has on customer satisfaction and how organizations can exploit it for maximal benefits. The discussion will be based on the thesis that “strategic sourcing is the definitive approach towards long-lasting customer satisfaction.”
Findings. Some of the main points that will be covered include how customers achieve satisfaction through increased profitability, healthy relationships with suppliers, better decision-making mechanisms, presence of a higher scope to improve, reduction in operating costs, and easy management of risks. In this section, the findings, in the form of major themes surrounding the topic, will be briefly introduced.
Discussion. This part of the paper will expound on the Findings section, providing more details as well as presenting information on how organizations could exploit this methodology for continued business excellence.
Conclusion. The part will summarize the major findings and discussion points and provide recommendations.
