Leadership Benefits:

1. The power and potential of leadership increase when working with others. Identify and discuss four of the nine capacities of Context of Others that as a leader you are interested in developing.  (Text Page 113:  Displaying empathy, Inspiring others, Coaching others, Capitalizing on difference, Developing relationships, Building teams, Demonstrating citizenship, Managing conflict, Facilitating change) This should be a minimum of two 5 sentence paragraphs.

 

2. Utilizing what you learned about Mission Statements develop your own leadership mission statement. This should be 6 – 8 words that you feel communicates that you have an inspirational mission as a leader.

 

3. Utilizing what you learned about Vision Statements develop your own leadership vision statement. This should be 6 – 8 words that you feel communicates that you have an inspirational vision as a leader.

 

4. Setting Goals is an important skill leaders need to develop. Using SMART goals choose one area you desire to improve as a leader.  Fill out the acronym of SMART as identified below.  (Workbook page 147)

 

S = specific

M = measurable

A = attainable

R = realistic

T = time bound

 

5. Stretch goals are goals that would make a significant difference in what you do as a leader but you are not sure how you will accomplish them. Identify one stretch goal that will help your leadership development.  (Workbook page 147)
