Discussion on Culture

Write a 3 to 4 page paper that discusses your observation of a cultural event that you attended. To successfully complete this assignment, you will have to do the following: [1] Observe a culture other than your own or a setting/scene of intercultural contact and write a paper that describes what you learned about the culture based on this interaction. For this assignment, culture is loosely defined. [2] Provide a brief explanation of the cultural event that you will be attending. What was the event; why was it being held, etc? [3] Focus on the role that communication played in this interaction, discussing verbal, nonverbal, or other ideas discussed in your text. How did this event/place differ from sites you are more familiar and accustomed to seeing and experiencing? Three sources are required for this assignment. You are required to submit your topic for approval. Previous travels or experiences are not allowed for this paper unless they happend within the last three months. The observation must be conducted this semester. (100 points)
