Compare and contrast conservative, liberal, and radical views of of human nature, individual behavior, the family, social systems, and the role of government as it relates to helping those in need. Give examples. Are social workers more likely to be liberal, conservative, or radical? Explain. What do we mean by social welfare? What are the major categories of social welfare benefits programs? What are the reasons your text cites for the stigma surrounding social welfare programs in this country?
